Canadian superstar Michael Bublé turned a regular New York City subway station into a concert hall with a jaw-dropping acapella performance alongside the vocal group Naturally 7. The pop singer, known for his smooth and soulful voice, was in top form, making commuters stop in their tracks with smiles on their faces.

Bublé performed “Who’s Lovin’ You” from his album To Be Loved, and the crowd loved every second of it. Online, the performance was just as popular—racking up an incredible 5.6 million views on YouTube. Naturally 7’s harmonies, rich and powerful like a gospel choir, gave the performance an extra layer of magic.

Bublé, famous for his surprise public performances, was clearly thrilled about the experience. After the show, he couldn’t hide his excitement. “That was the coolest thing ever,” he said. “That’s when you know you’ve made it. Singing in the New York subway is a tradition that’s been around for years. I feel like this is the most authentic, real way to make music. Some of the greatest musicians in the world have played down here.”

He also pointed out how the subway’s architecture made the music sound even better. “With the tiles, you get this great bounce,” he explained. “Out of all the press events I had to do in Europe and America, this was the one I was most excited about.” Then, with a playful grin, he added in a dramatic New York accent, “I feel like a real New Yorker now.”

Strangely enough, this raw, acapella subway performance of “Who’s Lovin’ You” became even more popular on YouTube than the polished studio version, earning more than twice the views. The song itself has an interesting history—it was originally written and recorded in 1960 by Smokey Robinson for his Motown group, The Miracles.

“Who’s Lovin’ You” is a song full of heartache and longing, first released as the B-side to The Miracles’ hit “Shop Around.” But it didn’t stay in the background for long—it became a hit on its own and was later covered by many legendary artists, including The Temptations, The Supremes, John Farnham, and Jessica Mauboy.

The most famous version of the song came in 1969 when The Jackson 5 recorded it, with a young Michael Jackson delivering a powerful and emotional lead vocal. Released as the B-side to their chart-topping single “I Want You Back,” the song became an instant classic. Years later, a 12-year-old Shaheen Jafargholi performed it at Michael Jackson’s public memorial service, bringing even more attention to the song’s legacy.

Bublé’s version of “Who’s Lovin’ You” was included as an album track on To Be Loved, his eighth studio album. Produced by Bob Rock, the album featured ten timeless standards along with four original songs written by Bublé himself. It was a massive success, becoming Bublé’s fourth consecutive album to reach number one on the Billboard 200. It also topped the charts in the UK and ended up as the third best-selling album of the year.

Naturally 7 joined Bublé on his To Be Loved Tour as the opening act, and he performed “Who’s Lovin’ You” every night on stage. If you want to see more of Michael Bublé’s incredible performances, you can subscribe to his YouTube channel or check out his official website for more updates.
