When primary school music teacher Mike Woodhams auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent 2024, he walked onto the stage with a big smile and a friendly vibe. He looked like someone who loved entertaining kids and had a real passion for music. But no one could have guessed just how amazing his performance was going to be!

Mike isn’t just an ordinary singer — he’s a music impressionist. That means he can copy the voices of famous singers, from Boyzone to Anastacia, and he adds his own fun and quirky style to it. As the famous music video for James Blunt’s 2004 hit “You’re Beautiful” started playing on the big screen behind him, the judges looked a bit confused. But as soon as Mike started singing along perfectly, making it seem like James Blunt was lip-syncing to his voice, the crowd went wild with laughter and cheers.

His performance was full of surprises. He cleverly used props like flower bouquets and sunglasses to match each song from the music videos playing behind him. It was like watching a live version of the TV show “Stars In Their Eyes,” but even funnier and more entertaining.

Judge Bruno Tonioli couldn’t believe what he heard. He said, “That was the best vocal impressions I’ve heard in a very, very long time!” He was amazed by Mike’s wide vocal range and how unexpected the whole act was. Alesha Dixon was also super impressed, especially with how well Mike could copy both male and female singers.

Even the famously tough judge Simon Cowell couldn’t stop laughing. He gave Mike two thumbs up and said, “I’m so surprised because you really undersold yourself… You’re the kind of act I really believe could win this whole show.”

At the end of his audition, Mike left the stage with four big “YES” votes from the judges and a cheering audience behind him. His audition video quickly became a hit, reaching over 1 million views on YouTube in just two weeks!

Mike, who is 37 years old and from Milton Keynes, spends his days teaching music to kids from Year 3 to Year 6. He teaches them how to play instruments like the recorder and ukulele, as well as singing. He also studied hard and earned a Master’s degree in vocals at The Voice Study Centre in Colchester. But despite all his training, his fans love him for his natural talent and fun personality. He brings happiness and energy to everything he does, making music exciting for everyone, from kids to adults.

Mike’s audition was pure entertainment, and with so many people around the world loving his performance, it looks like he’s ready to surprise everyone again in the live shows!
