For many fans, Ronan Keating needs no introduction, but let’s do a quick recap. In 1993, Keating became one of the lead singers of the Irish boy band Boyzone, a group that quickly became a sensation. Then, in 1999, he went solo, and his career skyrocketed when his song “When You Say Nothing At All” was featured in the hit movie Notting Hill. The song became a massive success, topping charts around the world. Over the years, Keating has sold nearly as many records as a solo artist as he did with Boyzone. In addition to his music, he is also known as a talent show host in Australia, Germany, and the UK.

One of his most touching performances happened during his 2016 tour for his tenth solo album, Time of My Life. The song “You Think I Don’t Remember”—which Keating co-wrote with Peter-John Vettese and Dan Healy—is deeply personal, reflecting on his Irish childhood and what it still means to him. The performance became extra special because Keating was joined on stage by his 11-year-old daughter, Ali, during a concert in Dublin in September 2016.

Ali knew all the lyrics, and her singing was beautiful. Fans were deeply moved by the moment. One commenter, Silhouette, wrote, “The little girl was so nervous at the start, but her father held her by the hand and steadied her…God’s blessings always upon you and yours, Ronan!” Another fan, Liliana Bartosi, said, “Look at him, how proud he is! Amazing voice!” Raddy Reyes also commented, “Ronan’s constant hugs made his daughter confident as they sang. What a loving and caring father.”

Ali didn’t just join her father for one performance—she sang with him at other shows on the tour, and you can see her confidence grow in each video. But the most special version of the song was actually recorded before the tour. On June 3, 2016, Keating released an intimate “kitchen session” performance. The stripped-down version featured co-writer Dan Healy, guitarist Greg Bone, and backing vocalist Jo Garland. But the best part? Keating was joined not just by Ali, but also by his father, Gerry Keating. Three generations, singing together—talk about a heartwarming moment!

Ali, born in 2005, is the youngest of three children from Keating’s first marriage. His first marriage formally ended in 2015 after a long separation. From his second marriage, Keating now has two more children, born in 2017 and 2020.

Ali has always had a passion for horses, but in May 2018, she had a serious accident when she fell from her pony, Red. She needed hours of surgery, and her mother, Yvonne Connolly, shared an update on social media: “After a cruel turn of events, Ali ended up in hospital on Tuesday after a fall from her new pony, Red. Just home today. She’s now out of the saddle for 8-10 weeks and missing lots of competitions we had coming up.”

Thankfully, Ali made a full recovery and didn’t let the accident stop her. She got back on her horse and worked harder than ever. By 2023, she had reached a huge milestone—she qualified for the prestigious Longines Dublin Horse Show. Speaking to VIP magazine about her passion for showjumping, Ali said, “I love my family, and I’m so grateful for everything that I’ve been brought up with and all the amazing people I’m surrounded by. But the horses are something I’m going to try to do on my own. There’s a lot of negativity with people saying, ‘Oh, you’re only this because of so and so,’ but I want to stand on my own two feet and know that I put in the hard work and had the determination.”

Way to go, Ali! She’s proving that she’s not just Ronan Keating’s daughter—she’s a determined and talented young woman carving her own path.
