Kodi Lee’s audition on America’s Got Talent (AGT) wasn’t just impressive—it turned him into an internet sensation. Born legally blind and diagnosed with autism, Kodi surprised the world with his amazing musical talent. People call him a “savant,” which means someone with incredible abilities in one area while facing challenges in others. His audition was so powerful that he earned the Golden Buzzer, and his journey on AGT only got more exciting from there. For the finale, Kodi and Leona sang a breathtaking duet of Calum Scott’s song, You Are The Reason. Fun fact: Leona had actually recorded an official duet of the same song with Calum just a year earlier! Their performance was emotional and heartfelt, with Leona giving Kodi plenty of room to shine. She didn’t overpower his voice, which fans absolutely loved. One viewer wrote, “Leona is a queen, and she let Kodi take the spotlight—so beautiful!” The video of their duet has already been watched over 16.7 million times on YouTube.
When Kodi and Leona finished their song, the judges stood up and clapped, and the entire audience started chanting, “Kodi! Kodi! Kodi!” It was clear to everyone: Kodi’s talent was something special. That night, he made history as the first person with disabilities to win a season of America’s Got Talent! He was crowned the winner of Season 14, and fans couldn’t stop celebrating his achievement.
Kodi’s journey started in Temecula, California. He was born with a condition called optic nerve hypoplasia, which affects vision. At just five days old, he had a life-saving surgery. As he grew up, Kodi showed an incredible gift for music. He has perfect pitch, meaning he can identify notes perfectly by ear, and an amazing memory. According to his website, Kodi can remember any song after hearing it just once. It’s like his brain is a living jukebox! He knows everything from Mozart to R&B, and from Chopin to jazz and rock.
Since winning AGT, Kodi has stayed busy and kept inspiring his fans. He appeared on shows like America’s Got Talent: All Stars and America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League. He’s also released five singles so far. One of them is an official version of You Are The Reason, and others include A Song For You, Hello World, Journey of You and I, and his latest bluesy pop-rock track, Change.
Kodi’s YouTube channel is buzzing with activity! He shares his music, live performances, and fun vlogs. One of his series, Kodi Tries, is a must-watch. In it, he takes on fun challenges like sculpting with clay, finger painting, and even playing a blindfolded game of Jenga with his family. Fans love seeing this playful side of Kodi. In April 2024, Kodi also launched his own signature shoes called “Kodify,” in collaboration with Billy Footwear.
